Hi Dan

welcome, please pull up a chair and make yourself at home.

London is happily infested with open mic nights, and they all vary slightly in terms of how they're run, vibe, kind of people who go, sound, and many other factors. Some are noisy (which can put certain performers off) and some are very quiet and attentive (which others find intimidating). You get the picture.

It all depends on what you like, and if you're new you might not even know what you like, yet.

If you want to maximise your chances of enjoyment I would recommend checking out a variety of open mics, as a listener. Go to visit each one at least twice. Then return to play at the one you think you'll be most comfortable at. Then, when you are comfortable, go to the ones you are least comfortable at (they are the ones where you learn the most).

Happy playing. It's all about the music.

i'm sure i'll be down in the crowd listening to you some time soon.

Peace and Respect.
M :-)
