Richard Durrant – Stringhenge
Ropetackle Arts Centre
Little High Street, Shoreham-By-Sea, West Sussex, BN43 5EG
Acoustic music inspired by the British Isles. Richard Durrant’s latest musical adventure will feature the Uffington Tenor Guitar, built in Sussex, and a six-string concert guitar, built in Lincolnshire and made from 5,000-year-old bog oak. This show is a uniquely British exploration of unplugged, acoustic music on the folk/classical cusp. Stringhenge is as beautifully produced and richly visual as any of Durrant’s tours in recent years. It’s also unplugged allowing you to hear and feel the vibrations of the wood in these incredible guitars. Durrant plays them brilliantly and is a clever weaver of intriguing tales. It’s real roots music linking the Mesolithic to the 21st century. The Durrant originals written for this tour draw inspiration from the hill barrows of Sussex, the flatlands of East Anglia and the mountains of Cumbria. Other pieces are chosen from eleven centuries of music. £15 standard, £14 concession, £5 under 18s. Starts 8pm. Box Office: 01273 464440

Midge Ure
Ropetackle Arts Centre
Little High Street, Shoreham-By-Sea, West Sussex, BN43 5EG
Midge Ure has a career that spans over 40 years – from his pop band beginnings, almost joining the Sex Pistols, the electronic ground-breaking work with Visage, via the mainstream success of Ultravox to the twists and turns of his solo releases. In 2015, Midge Ure and semi-acoustic duo, India Electric Company successfully performed the ‘Breathe Again’ show across the UK and Europe as a 20th anniversary retrospective. It was the first time Midge featured an album in its entirety and proved a successful format! Midge now plans to touch on the broad reach of his recorded output in a new ‘Something From Everything’ show, covering at least one song from every album he has released from Rich Kids in 1977, via Visage and Ultravox, to his solo albums such as the Gift, Pure and Answers To Nothing. Once again utilising the three-piece format which adds texture and depth to the material, this time Joseph O’Keefe will be adding keyboards to the mixture providing a more electronic nature to some of the songs. This will be an evening of both hits and rare gems from Midge’s back catalogue, an intimate evening with a true musical icon. Please note, this is an all standing event. Starts 8pm. Tickets: £25. Box Office: 01273 464440
